Kützingia

Kützingia is a genus of green algae belonging to the family Ulvaceae. It was first described in 1966 by P.C. Silva. The genus is named in honor of the German phycologist Friedrich Traugott Kützing. Species within Kützingia are typically marine, found in temperate and tropical waters. They are characterized by their filamentous or pseudoparenchymatous thalli. The cell walls are composed of cellulose.
