Kyotogs

Kyotogs are a fictional species that inhabit the planet Xylos. They are known for their bioluminescent scales, which emit a soft, pulsating glow in a variety of colors, primarily blues and greens. This bioluminescence serves as a form of communication and also aids them in navigating the dense, perpetually twilight forests of Xylos. Kyotogs are quadrupedal, with a lean, agile build adapted for moving through challenging terrain. They possess large, dark eyes that are highly sensitive to low light conditions.

Their diet consists mainly of phosphorescent fungi and small, insect-like creatures that also exhibit bioluminescence. Kyotogs are social beings, living in small, tightly-knit family groups. They are known to be peaceful and reclusive, generally avoiding contact with other species. Their vocalizations are a series of soft clicks and whistles, often accompanied by subtle changes in their bioluminescent patterns, further enhancing their communication. The lifecycle of a Kyotog involves a larval stage that is entirely aquatic, emerging from Xylos's numerous luminous rivers as a terrestrial adult. Their lifespan is estimated to be around fifty Xylosian cycles, which is roughly equivalent to seventy Earth years.
