Kvantkatsed

Kvantkatsed, often translated as quantum entanglement or quantum correlation, refers to a phenomenon in quantum mechanics where the quantum states of two or more objects are linked in such a way that they must be described in reference to each other, even though the individual objects may be spatially separated. This means that measuring a property of one particle instantaneously influences the corresponding property of the other particle, regardless of the distance between them.

The concept was famously explored by Albert Einstein, Boris Podolsky, and Nathan Rosen in their 1935 paper, which introduced the EPR paradox. They argued that this "spooky action at a distance," as Einstein called it, implied that quantum mechanics was incomplete. However, subsequent theoretical work, notably by John Bell, and experimental verification have strongly supported the reality of entanglement.

Experiments have demonstrated that entangled particles exhibit correlations that cannot be explained by classical physics. For instance, if two entangled photons are created with opposite polarizations, measuring the polarization of one photon will immediately determine the polarization of the other, even if they are separated by vast distances. This phenomenon has profound implications for our understanding of reality and has potential applications in quantum computing, quantum cryptography, and quantum teleportation. The precise mechanism by which this instantaneous correlation occurs remains a subject of ongoing research and philosophical debate within the quantum physics community.
