Kuparikärjiset
Kuparikärjiset refers to a group of small mammals belonging to the family Soricidae, which are commonly known as shrews. These particular shrews are characterized by their reddish-brown or coppery-colored fur, particularly on their heads and backs, which gives them their Finnish name. They are insectivores, meaning their diet primarily consists of insects, worms, and other invertebrates. Kuparikärjiset are typically found in moist environments such as forests, meadows, and along the edges of water bodies, where their food sources are abundant.
These shrews are known for their high metabolic rate and their need to constantly forage for food
