Kupéfilters

Kupéfilters are a type of air filter used in vehicles, specifically designed for the cabin or passenger compartment. Their primary function is to remove contaminants from the air that enters the car's interior, improving the air quality for occupants. These filters trap particles such as dust, pollen, soot, and other airborne debris, preventing them from circulating inside the vehicle.

There are generally two main types of kupéfilters: particle filters and active carbon filters. Particle filters are designed to capture solid particles. Active carbon filters, also known as charcoal filters, offer an additional layer of filtration by adsorbing gases and odors, such as those from exhaust fumes or other pollutants. Many modern vehicles utilize a combination of both to provide comprehensive air purification.

The replacement of kupéfilters is a routine maintenance item for most vehicles. A clogged or dirty filter can reduce airflow into the cabin, making the climate control system less effective and potentially leading to unpleasant odors or the ingress of more pollutants. The recommended replacement interval varies depending on the vehicle manufacturer and driving conditions, but it is often suggested to replace them annually or every 15,000 to 30,000 miles.
