Kultuuriti

Kultuuriti is a term used in some Nordic and Baltic language contexts to describe an approach to studying culture that crosses disciplinary boundaries. It denotes a framework for analyzing how cultural practices, artifacts and institutions intersect with social change, power relations and identity. Proponents describe kultuuriti as a way to bring together methods from anthropology, sociology, literary studies, media studies and art history to generate context-sensitive interpretations of cultural phenomena rather than treating culture as a fixed category.

The word appears to be formed from the root kultuur‑ meaning culture (found in Estonian and related languages) with a suffix such as ‑iti that has appeared in contemporary coinages.
