Kristallostructuren

Kristallostructuren, or crystal structures, are the three-dimensional arrangements of atoms, ions, or molecules in a crystal. These structures are characterized by their repeating patterns, which extend in all directions. The study of crystal structures is fundamental to understanding the properties of materials, including their physical, chemical, and mechanical behaviors.

Crystal structures are classified into seven crystal systems, each defined by its unique combination of lattice parameters and symmetry elements. Common crystal structures include the face-centered cubic (FCC), body-centered cubic (BCC), and hexagonal close-packed (HCP) structures. These structures are often represented using unit cells, which are the smallest repeating units of the crystal lattice.
