Kriseledelsesteam, or crisis leadership team, is a cross-functional group within an organization that is activated to steer the response to a significant disruption or crisis. The team's mandate is to enable rapid decision-making, ensure clear communication, protect people and assets, and maintain essential operations.

Typically comprising senior leaders or a designated crisis leader, the team includes representatives from operations, finance, legal, communications, information technology, safety, and human resources, with external advisors or regulators engaged as needed. Roles such as team lead, operations lead, communications lead, and logistics lead may be defined.

Key responsibilities include establishing crisis governance and decision rights, developing and approving an incident action plan, assessing risks, prioritizing actions, coordinating resource allocation, and maintaining situational awareness through regular reporting. The team interfaces with executives, board members, customers, employees, and external authorities.

Activation follows predefined criteria; the team often operates within a command-center or virtual space, holding frequent briefings, logging decisions, and updating playbooks. It uses playbooks, checklists, and containment strategies to guide response and recovery.

Techniques include dashboards, risk heatmaps, communications protocols, and scenario planning. The crisis leadership team may transition to recovery and lessons-learned phases as the incident evolves.
