Korróziókutatás

Korróziókutatás is the Hungarian term for corrosion research. It encompasses the scientific study of the degradation of materials, typically metals, due to chemical or electrochemical reactions with their environment. This field investigates the mechanisms by which corrosion occurs, the factors influencing its rate, and methods for its prevention and control.

The primary goals of korróziókutatás are to understand the fundamental processes of material deterioration and to develop strategies for extending the service life of metallic structures and components. This involves studying various types of corrosion, such as uniform corrosion, pitting corrosion, galvanic corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. Researchers analyze the interaction between materials and corrosive agents like water, oxygen, acids, bases, and salts under different conditions, including varying temperatures, pressures, and electrochemical potentials.
