Korkeareliefi
Korkeareliefi is a Finnish term referring to a type of sculpture or carving where the design projects significantly from the background. This is in contrast to basso-relievo, or low relief, where the projection is much shallower. In korkeareliefi, the figures or forms can be almost fully three-dimensional, with deep undercutting and a considerable separation from the surface from which they emerge. This technique allows for strong shadows and a dramatic play of light and form, giving the artwork a sense of depth and dynamism.
