Konvergenciák is a term used in various fields to describe the process or state of coming together or approaching a common point or outcome. In mathematics, convergence refers to a sequence of numbers that approaches a specific limit. For instance, the sequence 1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8... converges to 0. Similarly, in calculus, a series is said to converge if the sum of its terms approaches a finite value. This concept is fundamental to understanding infinite processes and their behavior.

In evolutionary biology, convergent evolution describes the independent evolution of similar features in species that do not share a recent common ancestor. This often happens when different species face similar environmental pressures or occupy similar ecological niches, leading them to develop analogous structures that serve the same function. Examples include the development of wings in birds, bats, and insects, or the streamlined body shape of dolphins and ichthyosaurs.

The term also finds application in sociology and economics. Social convergence might describe the gradual reduction of differences between societies in terms of their values, behaviors, or institutions. Economic convergence, on the other hand, refers to the tendency for poorer economies to grow faster than richer ones, leading to a narrowing of the income gap between them over time. This can be driven by factors such as technology transfer, increased investment, and global trade.
