Konvektorimalleja

Konvektorimalleja refers to a type of heating appliance designed to efficiently warm indoor spaces using convection and radiation. The term combines "konvektor" (convector), which describes the primary heating mechanism, and "imalleja," the Finnish word for "radiator." These devices are commonly used in residential and commercial buildings, particularly in colder climates.

Konvektorimalleja operates by drawing in cold air from the surrounding environment, heating it via internal elements (often electric coils or gas burners), and then releasing the warmed air back into the room. This process creates a gentle airflow that distributes heat evenly. Some models also incorporate radiative heating, where surfaces emit infrared radiation to directly warm objects and people in the space.

These appliances are often mounted on walls or installed under windows to provide targeted warmth, preventing cold drafts. They are energy-efficient compared to traditional radiators, as they heat air directly rather than relying solely on thermal mass.
