Kontona is a fictional island nation created for world-building and speculative fiction. It is commonly described as a constitutional republic located in the southern archipelago of the imagined continent of Veridia, with a multi-party system and a president as head of state alongside a prime minister who leads the government. The capital is Kori, and the national language is Kontonan, with minority use of Veridian and English in coastal towns.

The name Kontona is typically explained in-universe as deriving from indigenous terms meaning sea and shore, a reflection of its maritime geography. The country comprises eight main islands and numerous smaller islets, with volcanic terrain on the largest island and a tropical climate featuring a wet season and a drier inter-moon period.

Historically, Kontona is described as having ancient seafaring communities, followed by periods of regional kingdoms and later colonial influence from a European power. Independence is commonly placed in the mid-20th century, after which Kontona established a social market economy and integrated into regional trade networks.
