Kontaktivõrguga

Kontaktivõrguga is an Estonian term that translates to "contact network" or "contact grid." It generally refers to a system of interconnected electrical contacts designed to provide power to a moving object, most commonly a vehicle. This is most frequently observed in the context of electric railways and trams, where overhead lines or a third rail form the contact network.

The primary function of a kontaktivõrguga is to supply continuous electrical power to the vehicle's traction motors. This is achieved through a pantograph, a device mounted on the vehicle's roof, which collects current from an overhead wire, or through a shoe that slides along a third rail.
