Kolainac

Kolainac is a town and municipality in the northern highlands of Ardentia, beside the Kol River. It functions as the administrative center of Kolainac Municipality, with a compact historic core set among surrounding agricultural land.

The area blends river valley and rolling hills. The climate is temperate with four seasons; summers are mild and winters cool. Precipitation averages about 750 millimeters per year, supporting farmland, pastures, and nearby forests.

Early history dates to the 14th century, when Kolainac developed as a local market settlement. Growth accelerated during the railway era of the 19th century, and later expansions shaped the current town layout and surrounding villages.

The town is governed by a mayor and a municipal council elected for four-year terms. The population is diverse, with residents speaking Ardentian and minority languages, and education is provided by several primary and secondary schools.

Economy and infrastructure: The economy relies on agriculture—grain and dairy—alongside small manufacturing and services. The town is linked by regional roads and is served by a nearby railway station and regular bus services.
