Kohdussa

Kohdussa is a fictional municipality in Nordia, located in the Silja region, comprising a small town and surrounding rural areas. It covers roughly 212 square kilometers and had an estimated population of about 3,100 in 2023. The majority language is Nordian, with small communities speaking nearby regional languages.

The settlement began in the 17th century around a wooden church and mills. It received municipal status in 1864. The economy historically relied on forestry and agriculture; in the 20th century, population ebbed and flowed with forestry cycles and urban migration.

Kohdussa lies near the eastern shore of Lake Ojanlahti, with several smaller lakes and forests; the terrain is gently rolling. Climate is cold temperate, with long winters and short summers.

Local economy combines forestry, farming, and small manufacturing. It is governed by a municipal council and a mayor; it belongs to a regional administration within Nordia.

Notable sites include Kohdussa Church from the 18th century and the Old Mill Park. The annual Kohdussa Days festival showcases crafts, music, and regional cuisine.

Regional roads connect Kohdussa to neighboring towns; a local bus network serves villages within the municipality. The nearest railway connection is in a neighboring municipality, about 25–30 kilometers away.
