Kobros

Kobros is a city-state located on the northern coast of the Aster Archipelago. It sits at a natural harbor surrounded by low hills and has a land area of about 24 square kilometers. The population is around 15,000, concentrated in the port district and adjacent residential neighborhoods.

The city operates as a parliamentary republic. The Assembly of Kobros, elected every four years, serves as the legislative body, while a Mayor acts as the head of government. The legal framework rests on a codified constitution adopted in the early 20th century. The official language is Kobrian, with several minority languages spoken by immigrant communities and neighboring island residents in daily life and commerce.

Historically, Kobros grew from a cluster of fishing villages into a trading hub during the medieval period. It preserved a degree of autonomy through regional powers and later joined a loose federation of island states. Today it retains substantial self-government while participating in regional cooperation initiatives.

The economy centers on the harbor and related services. Fishing, ship repair, and logistics form the core, complemented by small manufacturing and a developing information and communication sector. Tourism also contributes modestly, focused on maritime heritage and coastal landscapes.

Culturally, Kobros emphasizes maritime heritage, seasonal festivals, and a cuisine centered on seafood and citrus fruits. The built environment blends stone and brick with tiled roofing, reflecting seafaring and trading influences. Notable sites include Kobros Gate, the Harbor Market, and an inland Observatory that dates to the early modern period.

Education and demographics include a regional university and several technical institutes, with a labor force drawn from both native residents and migrant workers.
