Klavierkante

Klavierkante is a German term that translates to “piano edge.” In woodworking, furniture making and instrument construction, it refers to a specific edge profile on panels and cases characterized by a narrow, softly rounded edge that evokes the refined silhouette of a piano. The profile is intended to be visually subtle while providing a comfortable tactile feel and improved resistance to chipping compared with sharp, square edges.
