Kiinteävirtalähteitä, known in English as constant current sources, are electronic circuits designed to deliver a stable and predictable electric current to a load, regardless of variations in the load's resistance or the supply voltage. This is in contrast to constant voltage sources, which maintain a steady voltage across their terminals, allowing the current to fluctuate with the load.

The primary function of a kiinteävirtalähde is to provide a precise current. This is crucial in applications where the performance or lifespan of a component is directly dependent on the current it receives. For example, LEDs require a specific current to operate at their intended brightness and to avoid overheating. Similarly, in battery charging circuits, a constant current phase is often used to ensure safe and efficient charging.
