Ketonitasot

Ketonitasot, also known as ketone levels, refer to the concentration of ketone bodies in the blood or urine. Ketone bodies are produced by the liver during states of increased fat metabolism, such as fasting, prolonged exercise, or carbohydrate restriction. The primary ketone bodies include acetoacetate, beta-hydroxybutyrate, and acetone.

Measuring ketonitasot is important in various medical contexts, particularly for diagnosing and managing diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), a potentially life-threatening complication of diabetes mellitus. Normal ketone levels are generally low and considered safe. Elevated levels may suggest a state of ketosis, which, in controlled settings like ketogenic dieting, can be beneficial for weight loss and metabolic health. However, significantly high ketone levels, especially when accompanied by hyperglycemia and acidosis, necessitate medical attention.
