Kergejõustikuvõistlused, often translated as athletics competitions or track and field events, encompass a wide range of sporting disciplines that test fundamental human physical abilities. These events are broadly categorized into running, jumping, and throwing disciplines, all of which are performed on a track or a field.

Running events include sprints such as the 100m, 200m, and 400m, middle-distance races like the 800m and 1500m, and long-distance contests including the 5000m and 10000m.
