Keittokauha

Keittokauha, often simply called a ladle in English, is a type of spoon with a long handle and a deep bowl. It is a kitchen utensil primarily used for serving liquids, such as soups, stews, sauces, and broths. The deep bowl allows for the effective transfer of a generous portion of liquid from a pot or container to a serving bowl or plate.

The design of a keittokauha is optimized for its function. The long handle provides reach, keeping the user's hand away from hot contents, and offers leverage for scooping. The bowl's shape and size vary depending on its intended use. Smaller ladles might be used for serving gravies or sauces, while larger ones are suited for soups or punch bowls.
