Kehitystarve
Kehitystarve is a Finnish neologism that translates roughly to “development starvation.” It is not a standard term in Finnish dictionaries, but appears in contemporary discussions to describe a situation in which progress or development is hindered by a persistent lack of resources, investment, or attention. The phrase is used metaphorically rather than as a formal diagnostic term.
Usage and contexts vary. In development economics and policy discussions, kehitystarve may refer to chronic underinvestment
Etymology and reception: the word combines Finnish kehitys (development) with the English verb starve, used figuratively
