Keevitamiseks

Keevitamiseks is a term that refers to the process of welding in the Estonian language. Welding is a fabrication process that joins materials, usually metals or thermoplastics, by causing fusion. This is often done by melting the workpieces and adding a filler material to form a pool of molten material that cools to become a strong joint, with the added material being called a filler. Alternatively, welding machines can be used to heat the materials to be joined to a high temperature, causing them to melt and flow together.

There are numerous types of welding, each suited for different applications and materials. Common methods include arc welding, gas welding, resistance welding, and solid-state welding. Arc welding uses an electric arc to generate heat, melting the base materials and often a filler rod. Gas welding uses a flame produced by the combustion of gases, such as oxy-acetylene, to melt and join materials. Resistance welding uses the heat generated by electrical resistance to melt and fuse materials, often used in manufacturing for joining sheet metal. Solid-state welding processes join materials without melting them, relying instead on pressure and sometimes heat to form a bond.

The choice of welding technique depends on factors such as the type and thickness of the materials being joined, the required strength of the joint, the environment in which the welding is performed, and economic considerations. Proper safety precautions are essential when performing any type of keevitamiseks, including wearing protective gear to shield against intense heat, UV radiation, and flying debris.
