Karbidtip

Karbidtip is a term that refers to a cutting tip made from carbide. Carbide itself is an extremely hard ceramic material produced by the chemical combination of a metal with carbon. Tungsten carbide is the most common type used for cutting tools due to its exceptional hardness and wear resistance.

These carbide tips are often brazed or mechanically fastened onto a steel shank to create a cutting tool. This design allows the extremely hard carbide insert to perform the cutting action, while the steel body provides strength and shock absorption. The hardness of carbide enables it to cut materials that would quickly dull conventional steel cutting edges, such as hardened steels, cast iron, and abrasive alloys.

Karbidtip cutting tools are widely used in machining operations, including turning, milling, and drilling. They are essential in industries like automotive manufacturing, aerospace, and general metalworking. The ability of karbidtip to maintain sharp edges at high cutting speeds and under heavy loads significantly increases productivity and reduces downtime for tool changes.
