Karaköy

Karaköy is a historic neighborhood located in the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul, Turkey. Situated on the northern shore of the Golden Horn, it has been a significant port and commercial center for centuries. Its name, meaning "village on the cliff," hints at its original topography.

Historically, Karaköy was a center for Genoese and other European merchants, and its architecture reflects this influence with many buildings featuring neoclassical and Art Nouveau styles.
