Kappimaq is a traditional Inuit game that originated among the Indigenous peoples of the Arctic regions, particularly in Greenland, Canada, and Alaska. The game is played with a set of small, flat, wooden or ivory pieces known as "kappi," which are arranged in a specific pattern on a flat surface, often made of ice or snow. The objective is to remove the opponent's pieces while protecting one's own.

The game is believed to have deep cultural significance, serving as both a recreational activity and a means of teaching strategy and patience. Historically, it was played during long winter nights when outdoor activities were limited, making it a popular indoor pastime.
