Kapacitetsmissar

Kapacitetsmissar are shortfalls between a system’s nominal or planned capacity and the actual usable capacity available to operate. The term is used to describe the gap that arises when equipment, processes, or resources cannot deliver the expected output due to various constraints. Metrics may be expressed as a capacity shortfall percentage or as time-based downtime attributable to capacity loss. Organizations may track capacity miss alongside utilization and availability to understand reliability and performance.

Management approaches focus on reducing the frequency and impact of kapacitetsmissar. Strategies include preventive and predictive maintenance, redundancy and spare capacity, improved capacity planning, process optimization, and investing in more reliable equipment or flexible production and dispatch options.
