Kancerit

Kancerit is a term used in several languages to refer to cancer or cancerous cells. In everyday usage, it can function as the plural form of the word for cancer, or as a generic label for malignant neoplasms. In English, the corresponding terms would be cancers or cancer cells rather than a formal medical term. The concept, however, is the same: cancer describes diseases characterized by abnormal cell growth with potential to invade surrounding tissues and spread to distant sites.

Cancer arises from genetic mutations in cells that disrupt normal growth controls. Hallmarks include sustained proliferative signaling, evasion of growth suppressors, resisting cell death, enabling replicative immortality, inducing angiogenesis, and activating invasion and metastasis. Tumors can be benign or malignant; malignant cancers can invade nearby tissue and metastasize through blood or lymph.

Diagnosis relies on clinical assessment, imaging, and tissue sampling. Biopsies examined microscopically confirm malignant cells and determine cancer type and stage. Modern cancer care also uses molecular tests to identify specific mutations and biomarkers that guide therapy.

Treatment varies by cancer type, stage, and patient factors. Common modalities include surgery to remove tumors, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and increasingly targeted therapies and immunotherapies that attack cancer cells with fewer effects on normal cells.

Epidemiology: cancer remains a leading cause of death worldwide, with risk increasing with age and influenced by genetics, lifestyle, and environmental factors. Early detection through screening improves outcomes in many cancers.
