This treatment is crucial for extending the lifespan and structural integrity of wooden products, especially those used outdoors or in contact with moisture. Common agents used in kaitsetöötlus include copper-based compounds, such as copper sulfate or copper azole, which are toxic to wood-destroying organisms. Other preservatives might involve boron compounds or organic biocides.
