Kaitsealade
Kaitsealade are protected areas designated by Estonian law to conserve natural and cultural values. They protect biodiversity, habitats of rare or threatened species, representative landscapes, geological and hydrological features, and traditional land-use patterns. The system aims to maintain ecological networks and provide opportunities for research and education.
