Kailasagiri
Kailasagiri is a hill station and scenic viewpoint located in the city of Visakhapatnam in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The hill rises to approximately 580 metres (1900 feet) above sea level and offers panoramic views of the Bay of Bengal and the surrounding coastal cityscape. Development of Kailasagiri as a tourist attraction began in the 1970s, after the state government cleared the area of dense forest and constructed a road that connects it to National Highway 16. The site now features landscaped gardens, walking paths, a suspension bridge, and the well‑known statue of the Hindu deity Lord Ganesha perched on the summit.
The name Kailasagiri reflects the hill’s resemblance to the mythological Mount Kailasa, abode of Lord Shiva,
