Käsidesinfektio
Käsidesinfektio, commonly known as hand sanitizer, is a liquid, gel, or foam that is used to disinfect hands to remove germs. It is particularly useful when soap and water are not readily available. Most hand sanitizers contain alcohol as the active ingredient, typically ethanol or isopropanol, at concentrations between 60% and 95%. Alcohol-based hand sanitizers work by denaturing proteins and disrupting cell membranes of microorganisms.
The effectiveness of hand sanitizers depends on several factors, including the alcohol concentration and proper application.
While convenient, hand sanitizers are not a substitute for handwashing with soap and water, especially when
