Järjestelemiren, also known as the Estonian Order of the Cross of the Eagle, is a national order of merit established in Estonia. It was founded on October 26, 1936, by the Estonian government to recognize outstanding achievements in various fields, including military service, civil service, science, culture, and economic development. The order was designed to honor both Estonian citizens and foreigners who had contributed significantly to the country’s welfare.

The insignia of the Order of the Cross of the Eagle features a white cross with a blue border, set against a red background. The central medallion displays a golden eagle, symbolizing strength and freedom, while the reverse side bears the Estonian coat of arms. The order is divided into several classes, including the Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer, Knight, and Medal, each signifying different levels of distinction.

During its active period, the order was awarded to prominent figures such as politicians, military leaders, and cultural figures. However, its use was discontinued after the Soviet occupation of Estonia in 1940 and was not revived until Estonia regained independence in 1991. Following the restoration of the order, it has been used sparingly, primarily to honor foreign dignitaries and individuals with exceptional contributions to Estonia’s international relations or cultural exchange.
