Järgitavity is a speculative concept describing a hypothetical modification of gravity in which the effective gravitational acceleration depends on local material properties. In this framework, the gravitational field is not universal but can be influenced by factors such as metallic composition or magnetic order within a body. Järgitavity is not part of established physics and has no empirical support.

Proposed models envision a coupling between gravity and a hidden sector that forms ordered structures inside large bodies, producing anisotropic or position-dependent gravity. The effect would be small under ordinary conditions but could become noticeable in precise orbital measurements or in strongly magnetized environments. Theories are typically parameterized by a coupling constant and a directional tensor that modulates g according to local lattice orientation.

Potential signatures include tiny, orientation-dependent deviations in satellite trajectories, unexpected tidal behaviors, or weight variations in high-fidelity metallic experiments. Tests would rely on precision gravimetry, laser ranging, or spacecraft tracking. So far, no convincing experimental evidence has been published, and järgitavity remains a speculative extension rather than an established mechanism.

Within scientific discourse, järgitavity is mainly discussed in speculative physics and science fiction contexts. Critics argue that it adds complexity without independent motivation and conflicts with the well-tested predictions of Newtonian gravity and general relativity.
