Juhiluba

Juhiluba is a traditional celebration observed primarily in the Indian state of Gujarat. The term "Juhiluba" is derived from the Gujarati words "Juhu," meaning lamp, and "Luba," meaning to swing. This festival is celebrated on the fifth day of the bright fortnight of the Hindu lunar month of Kartik, which typically falls in October or November.

The festival of Juhiluba holds significant cultural and religious importance. It is dedicated to the worship of Lord Krishna, an avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu. The celebration is marked by the swinging of beautifully decorated swings, known as "Juhis," in homes and temples. These swings are often adorned with flowers, garlands, and other decorative items. Devotees take turns to swing on these Juhis, singing devotional songs and offering prayers to Lord Krishna.

The festival also involves the lighting of lamps, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and the ushering in of light and prosperity.
