Jordánia

Jordania, officially the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, is an Arab country in Western Asia. It is situated north of the Arabian Peninsula, surrounding the narrow Gulf of Aqaba to its southwest. Jordan shares borders with Syria to the north, Iraq to the northeast, Saudi Arabia to the east and south, Israel and Palestine to the west. The capital and largest city is Amman.

The history of Jordan is rich and complex, marked by ancient civilizations and significant historical events. The land has been inhabited since prehistoric times and was part of numerous empires, including the Roman and Ottoman empires. In the early 20th century, it became the Emirate of Transjordan under British mandate and gained independence in 1946 as the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Tourism is a significant source of foreign exchange, with Petra, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea being major attractions. Jordan is a member of the United Nations, the Arab League, and other international organizations. The population is predominantly Arab, with a significant Palestinian minority. The official language is Arabic.
