JaVale

JaVale McGee is an American professional basketball player who plays as a power forward and center. Born on October 20, 1989, in Los Angeles, California, he is known for his versatility, athleticism, and leadership on the court. McGee attended the University of Southern California (USC) and played college basketball for the USC Trojans from 2008 to 2011, where he became a standout player and a two-time All-Pac-12 Conference selection.

McGee was selected with the 13th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers. He spent the majority of his early career with the Trail Blazers, earning a reputation as a reliable defender and a capable scorer. In 2014, he was traded to the Sacramento Kings, where he continued to develop as a key player, particularly in the defensive end of the game. His ability to guard multiple positions earned him a spot on the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2015.

In 2017, McGee was traded to the Houston Rockets, where he played alongside superstars James Harden and Russell Westbrook. His time in Houston was marked by consistent performance, including a career-high 20.3 points per game in the 2018–19 season. After a brief stint with the Brooklyn Nets in 2020, he signed with the Dallas Mavericks, where he contributed as a role player and veteran presence.
