Ishi
Ishi was a Native American man who gained international attention in the early 20th century due to his eclectic background and unique position as a cultural ambassador. Born in 1861 in the Butte Valley of Northern California, Ishi was a member of the Yahi people, a small band of Athabaskan-speaking Native Americans.
