Introvertit is the Finnish term for individuals who are predominantly introverted. In psychology, introversion is a personality dimension characterized by a preference for inner thoughts, reflection, and energy renewal through solitude, rather than through frequent social stimulation. The concept traces back to Carl Jung and has since become a standard part of major trait theories, including the Big Five, where introversion corresponds to lower levels of extraversion.

Introversion is not the same as shyness or social anxiety. A person can be confident and comfortable in conversations yet still be energetic from quieter, solitary activities.
