Internetnopeustestit (Estonian for "internet speed tests") refer to measurements of the data transfer rate between a user's device and a remote server. They are used to assess the performance of an internet connection, typically focusing on bandwidth, latency, and reliability. Tests are widely available through online services and can be run from home networks, mobile networks, or workplaces.

Commonly reported metrics include download speed, upload speed, and latency (ping). Some tests also report jitter and packet loss. Speeds are expressed in megabits per second (Mbps) or gigabits per second (Gbps). A test usually involves sending or requesting data to a nearby server and measuring the time required to complete a defined data transfer, often multiple times to produce an average.

Test methodology and results can be influenced by factors such as connection type (wired Ethernet versus Wi-Fi or mobile data), network congestion, server distance, device performance, background applications, and hardware limits. Results reflect the performance of the path between the client and the test server at the moment of testing, not guaranteed sustained throughput.

Uses include verifying that an advertised plan speed is achieved, diagnosing home network problems, comparing ISPs or service plans, and estimating suitability for activities such as video streaming or online gaming. Best practices include testing on a wired connection, testing multiple times at different times of day, and using multiple servers to get a representative picture.

Prominent online speed test services include Ookla's Speedtest, Netflix's Fast.com, and Measurement Lab's speed tests. They vary in server locations, testing methods, and privacy policies. Results should be interpreted in light of the test's methodology and the user's service agreement.
