Installitakse

Installitakse is an Estonian verb form used to express that something is in the process of being installed or is about to be installed. It is the third-person singular present passive form of the verb installida (to install). In Estonian, the passive marker -takse is used to describe processes, often without naming the agent doing the installation.

Morphologically, installitakse consists of the stem installi- from installida, the infinitive ending -da, and the passive ending -kse/-takse. The form indicates an impersonal or agentless process, which is common in technical and instructional language.

Usage and context guidelines:

- Installitakse is frequent in software and hardware contexts, system logs, manuals, and user interfaces to describe ongoing or imminent installation activities. Example: Rakendus installitakse automaatselt. (The application is installed automatically.)

- It can describe future installation in a general sense, since Estonian lacks a distinct future tense; present tense forms are commonly used to convey future actions as well. Example: Värskendus installitakse homme. (The update will be installed tomorrow.)

- The corresponding past passive form is installiti (it was installed), and the verb pair installida/paigaldada is often used interchangeably in non-technical prose, with installida leaning toward software contexts and paigaldama toward hardware or setups.
