Indításkor

Indításkor is a Hungarian term that translates to "at startup" or "during boot-up" in English. It refers to the process that occurs when a computer or other electronic device is turned on. This process involves a series of checks and initializations to prepare the system for operation.

When a device is powered on, the first step in the indításkor sequence is typically the Power-On Self-Test (POST). POST is a diagnostic process that verifies that the hardware components of the system are functioning correctly. This includes checking the memory, processor, and other essential hardware. If POST detects any critical errors, it may halt the startup process or display an error message.

Following a successful POST, the system proceeds to load the operating system. This involves locating the bootloader, a small program stored in non-volatile memory, which then takes over the task of loading the main operating system kernel from storage into random-access memory (RAM). Once the kernel is loaded and initialized, it begins to load essential drivers and services necessary for the system to function. This can include drivers for graphics cards, network interfaces, and audio devices, as well as background services for system management and user interaction.
