Inaritaisha, commonly written Inari Taisha, refers to Shinto shrines dedicated to the kami Inari, a deity associated with rice, fertility, agriculture, and prosperity. Inari worship is one of the most widespread forms of Shinto practice in Japan, and thousands of shrines across the country honor Inari. The most famous example is Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto, which functions as the head shrine of Inari worship.
