Illóolajokban

Illóolajokban refers to essential oils in Hungarian. Essential oils are concentrated hydrophobic liquids containing volatile chemical compounds from plants. They are often called "essences" which may mean the essence of a plant's fragrance, and "the very substance chosen by nature to its scent." Essential oils are used in aromatherapy, perfumery, and for flavorings. They are extracted through various methods, including steam distillation, cold pressing, and solvent extraction.

The chemical composition of essential oils is complex and varies greatly depending on the plant species, the part of the plant used (flowers, leaves, roots, bark), and the extraction method. These oils are typically lipophilic, meaning they dissolve in fats and oils, rather than water. In the food industry, some essential oils are used as flavorings, though typically in very small quantities and with regulatory approval. It is also advised to consult with a healthcare professional before using essential oils for therapeutic purposes, especially for pregnant women, children, or individuals with pre-existing health conditions.
