IgGErsatztherapie, also known as immunoglobulin replacement therapy or IVIg therapy, is a medical treatment used to manage primary immunodeficiency disorders. These are rare genetic conditions where the body's immune system does not produce enough antibodies to fight off infections. In IgGErsatztherapie, healthy antibodies derived from the plasma of human donors are infused into the patient. These donor antibodies, specifically IgG immunoglobulins, supplement the patient's own insufficient antibody levels.
