Iconists

An iconist is a person who creates, restores, or studies icons. Icons are religious works of art, most commonly associated with Eastern Orthodox Christianity, but also found in Oriental Orthodoxy, and some Eastern Catholic churches. These images are not merely decorative but are considered sacred objects, believed to be windows into the divine.
