IPkoodid, often referred to as IP codes or IP ratings, are a standardized system used to classify and identify the degree of protection provided by mechanical casings and electrical enclosures against intrusion from solid objects and liquids. The system is maintained by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) under the standard IEC 60529. The IP code consists of two digits. The first digit indicates the level of protection against solid foreign objects, including dust. The second digit indicates the level of protection against water.
