IPCRMID
IPCRMID is a proposed identifier scheme intended for use in Internet Protocol networks to uniquely identify resources, services, and transactions within distributed resource management environments. It is designed to be globally unique, hierarchical, and resolvable to current network locators, enabling persistent referencing even as resources move or are reallocated.
IPCRMIDs are described as URN-like strings with a domain qualifier and a path that encodes resource type
An IPCRMID functions as a reference rather than a locator. A designated resolution service maps an IPCRMID
As of 2024, IPCRMID is not part of formal standards by major bodies such as the IETF
Implementations consider authentication, integrity protection, and authorization for resolution requests; revocation and expiry mechanisms are recommended.
