Hüperviisoritega refers to the use of hypervisors. A hypervisor, also known as a virtual machine monitor (VMM), is a software, firmware, or hardware layer that creates and runs virtual machines (VMs). It allows multiple operating systems to share a single hardware host and its resources. This enables the creation of isolated virtual environments where each operating system can run independently.

There are two main types of hypervisors. Type 1 hypervisors, also called bare-metal hypervisors, run directly on the host's hardware, managing system resources and allowing guest operating systems to run on top of them. Examples include VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Xen. This type is often used in enterprise environments for its performance and security advantages.

Type 2 hypervisors, also known as hosted hypervisors, run on a conventional operating system as an application. The host operating system handles the hardware interactions, and the hypervisor then creates and manages VMs within that operating system. VMware Workstation, Oracle VirtualBox, and Parallels Desktop are common examples of Type 2 hypervisors, typically used for desktop virtualization and development purposes.

The primary benefit of using hypervisors is server consolidation, which reduces hardware costs and energy consumption. They also facilitate efficient resource utilization, improve disaster recovery capabilities, and enable easier testing and development of software in isolated environments. The technology is fundamental to cloud computing services, where virtual machines are provisioned and managed at scale.
